Shooting Powder or Gel fro House and Garden or Ripen from GHE are a couple of our customers “not to be without” products.
Shooting Powder is House & Garden’s late flowering additive. Shooting Powder helps to induce a second surge of flower production during the last three weeks of the flowering cycle. The impact that this late flower additive will have on your harvest can result in up to 30% increase in yield. Compatible with all nutrient lines, Shooting Powder is the secret of any successful gardener.
Derived From: Potassium Sulfate, Potassium Carbonate, and Potassium Phosphate
Ingredients Explained: House and Garden’s formulation consists of two main active ingredients; phosphorous and potassium. Phosphorus plays an essential role in photosynthesis and is involved in the production of all oils, starches and sugars. Both a stress reducer as well as a maturation facilitator, phosphorus facilitates rapid growth while boosting flower and root development. Potassium is responsible for water loss and absorption as well as the ability to endure colder temperatures. Potassium is also necessary in the formation of sugars, starches and carbohydrates needed for protein synthesis and cell division.
Application: Apply one sachet into 25 gallons of water three weeks before harvest. Use two sachets per 25 gallons in hydro the last two weeks before harvest, one sachet in soil last two weeks.
Available Sizes: 65 gram sachets
House & Garden Top Shooter Gel 250ml is used in the final stages of the flowering cycle-last three weeks of the flowering cycle, Top Shooter forces a new stage of growth when the plant’s fruit is almost ready to be cropped. Some other flowering stimulators will add density to fruit but taste and aroma will be compromised. By adding a new layer of growth to each fruit, House & Garden Top Shooter ensures a better end result without compromising the quality of your fruits. Top Shooter has increased many crops by up to 30%. When the plants have all the optimum conditions of heat, light and CO2, this product will amaze the grower as it forms another set of flowers over the existing flowers, forming dense buds like you have never witnessed before.
RIPEN from GHE
Ripen is for the last week before flushing.
For all growing methods: hydroponics and soil
Late flowering nutrient
Ripen is a comprehensive plant nutrient used during the late flowering stage of the plant. It is specifically designed to speed up and enhance the ripening process, while increasing the content in active principles of medicinal, aromatic and culinary plants.
This type of formulation is referred to, in the greenhouse industry, as a ‘forcing solution‘.
Ripen is a mix of refined mineral salts and buffers, formulated by our laboratories with the greatest precision. Indeed, at this stage, accuracy is of the utmost importance: the plant, at the end of its life, is generally more fragile and the assimilation process is greatly reduced when compared with the vegetative phase.
Ripen acts at different levels:
It gives the plant a strong signal that it is coming to the end of its life. The plant reacts by speeding the ripening process, in a last effort to spread its genes.
It forces the plant to reinforce its defences and thus increase its active principles.
It brings to the plants all the mineral salts they need, in a form easy to assimilate.
In case of a previous accumulation of nitrate or microelements, it helps metabolise these residues, which will improve the taste of the crop.
This nutrient has many properties:
Outdoors, it enables you to quickly harvest a crop, before it is spoiled by a cold and humid weather.
Indoors, it helps you harmonise the end of the cycle by speeding up the ripening of the slowest plants.
In case of a severe infestation of fungi or insects, it allows you to accelerate the natural cycle and get something out of a crop otherwise completely lost.
It increases the active principle in medicinal plants. When you are growing a plant for its medicinal properties, this is the nutrient of choice to boost the concentration in the final product.
Application:
The last 10 days of flowering, dilute Ripen in water with adjusted pH (between 5,5 and 6,5)
In Hydroponics: 4-5 ml/L – EC = 1,8 – 2,2
In Soil: same concentration, every second watering
Ripen is an acid, it will lower the pH of your solution. Pour it in the water before adjusting your pH level
Ripen exists in 0,5 l, 1 l, 5 l, 10 l, 60 l.

How to take cuttings or clones – please call in to the shop for any help.
Soft cuttings are taken from many other plants including hardy and tender perennials. Chillis, Tomato and many other popular flowering plants
It is wise to use softwood cuttings have the highest rooting potential of any stem cutting and often provide the best chance of rooting species that are difficult to propagate.
Most softwood cuttings are taken in spring and early summer, from the tender new growth of the season. If potted by mid-summer they will develop sufficient roots to survive the winter, otherwise pot up in the following spring.
Cuttings from young plants root more easily; heavily pruning older plants can stimulate new growth that will root quicker than the old growth.
Most cuttings are nodal, i.e. cut at the bottom just below the leaf joint or node, where there is a concentration of hormones to stimulate root production.
Some hard to root plants such as Rhododendron respond well to wounding, removing a thin slice of bark near the base of the stem and then dipping the wound in hormone rooting compund. Others, such as Acer palmatum, Cotinus, Lonicera,Jasminum and Sambucus, can be removed from the parent plant with a heel, pulling off the stem with a ‘tail’ of bark from the previous season’s growth. The heel is then dipped in hormone rooting compound.
These are similar to nodal cuttings except they are taken from clusters of young shoots at the base of herbaceous plants in spring.
This technique is suitable for Aster, Chrysanthemum, Delphinium, Lupinus, Phloxand Salvia.
Select sturdy shoots 7-10cm (3-4in) high with the leaves just unfolding. Using a sharp knife remove them as close to the base as possible, including part of the woody basal tissue. Then treat as nodal cuttings.
These are taken a little later in the season than softwood cuttings, usually from late spring to mid-summer.
They are similar to softwood cuttings except the base of the stem is firmer as it has had longer to mature.
Prepare greenwood cuttings as you would softwood cuttings, but make them a bit longer, generally 7.5-12.5cm (3-5in) long.
This technique is suitable for berry fruits, Ceanothus, Forsythia and Philadelphus.
